"Are you finished with your applications yet?" David asked as he leaned in Ariana's doorway, "they're due tomorrow by nine in the morning."
"Ummm..."
"Ari," David sighed, "I though you said you were going to get it done by tonight so that we could go out."
"Now when you say finished, do you mean done done, or just sort of done?" Ariana asked, a blush infusing her face.
"Done, done, Ari. As in finished, complete, nothing left to do," David said as he rolled his eyes at her.
Ariana stood up from her desk, "It can get done later. I swear it will be finished by tomorrow," she said as she got ready to go out.
David shook his head, "no, Ari. We're not going until you are finished."
"But this is the last night of the Comet," Ariana pouted.
"There are two types of pain," David said in return, "the pain of discipline and the pain of regret. Now, it will hurt to have to miss out on the comet to do your college applications, but it will hurt less than the pain of regret when tomorrow comes and you are not done and you don't get accepted to the school you want."
Ariana slumped in defeat, "alright, I'll get them done," she said.
"That's my girl," David said as he embraced her and dropped a kiss on her upturned mouth, "procrastination is a terrible habit.
